Our Minor Oral Surgery Services

Tooth Extractions
Removal of teeth that are damaged, decayed, or impacted and cannot be saved. Simple or surgical extractions are performed depending on the complexity.
After a tooth extraction, bone grafting may be performed to preserve the jawbone structure and prepare the site for future tooth replacement with implants.
A mucocele is a fluid-filled cyst that forms in the mouth, usually on the lip, and is caused by blocked or ruptured salivary glands. This can lead to swelling, discomfort, or difficulty with speech. Treatment typically involves surgical removal of the mucocele to restore normal function and appearance.
A frenectomy is performed to release the tongue from the floor of the mouth if the frenulum (the tissue that connects the tongue to the bottom of the mouth) is too tight. This condition can cause difficulty with speaking, eating, or breastfeeding.
A frenectomy involves the removal or modification of a frenulum, which can be located either under the tongue (lingual frenulum) or between the upper lip and gum (labial frenulum). This procedure is commonly done to correct restricted movement that can affect speech, eating, or cause discomfort. Additionally, a frenectomy can help orthodontists close the gap between the front teeth. When the labial frenulum is too thick or tight, it can prevent the natural closure of the gap between the upper incisors, making it difficult for orthodontic treatments to achieve the desired results. By removing or repositioning the frenulum, the procedure helps facilitate the successful alignment of the teeth.
Salivary gland stones (or sialoliths) are hard deposits that form in the salivary glands, blocking the flow of saliva and causing pain, swelling, or infection. The treatment often involves surgically removing the stone to restore normal salivary function and alleviate discomfort. In some cases, small stones can be removed through a minimally invasive procedure, while larger stones may require more extensive surgery.
Alveoloplasty is a procedure that smooths or reshapes the bone in the jaw following tooth extractions, especially when preparing the area for dental implants or dentures. This helps ensure proper fit and comfort for any future restorations.
In cases where the canine teeth fail to erupt properly and remain impacted (trapped beneath the gum line), surgical intervention is required. The procedure involves exposing the impacted tooth and, if necessary, guiding it into proper alignment.
Treatment of oral abscesses and infections often involves draining the pus and removing the source of the infection, which may be an infected tooth or damaged tissue. In severe cases, tooth extraction or other procedures may be necessary to eliminate the infection and prevent further complications.

Anaesthesia Options for Minor Oral Surgery

Many of the procedures listed above can be performed under local anaesthesia at our clinic, helping you remain comfortable throughout your treatment. For children or patients who may feel anxious, we offer access to experienced anaesthetists and hospital-based general anaesthesia (GA) facilities. This flexibility allows us to tailor the anaesthetic approach to suit your individual needs and preferences, supporting a safe and smooth experience.

Management Strategies for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea

The management of OSA depends on the severity of the condition and individual patient factors. Some common treatments include:

  • Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP): A CPAP machine provides a continuous flow of air to keep the airway open during sleep. It is the most common and effective treatment for moderate to severe OSA.
  • Mandibular Advancement Devices (MADs): These oral appliances reposition the lower jaw to open the airway. MADs are effective for patients with mild to moderate OSA, and they help reduce snoring and improve breathing during sleep.
